Auburn University Marines’ to host 5K Mud Run on campus this Saturday

AUBURN – The Marines of Auburn University are hosting the area’s first 5K Mud Run this Saturday, April 3rd starting on Auburn University’s Intramural Field on Biggio Drive. This opportunity to be part of The Few, The Proud, The Muddy is open to the public.

The purpose of this event is to increase the involvement of Auburn Marines within the local Auburn community, build university and community camaraderie and increase awareness of the strong ties Auburn University has with the military community.

The run includes 3 miles of off-road trails, creeks, hills, obstacles and mud pits Team categories are available for those who don’t like leaving a buddy behind.

Auburn’s Marines will donate a portion of the funds raised in the 5K Mud Run directly to the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization that raises awareness and enlists public aid for the needs of severely combat-injured service men and women while providing unique, direct programs and services.
