Barbara Dooley to speak at Women’s Philanthropy Board Fall Luncheon

AUBURN – The Women’s Philanthropy Board, in Auburn University’s College of Human Sciences, will host its 2010 Fall Luncheon on Friday, Oct. 1, from 12 p.m.-2 p.m. at The Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center. The featured speaker will be Barbara Dooley.

Dooley is a speaker and story teller who uses a sharp wit and Southern humor in her presentations. As a breast cancer survivor and wife to a husband who is a throat cancer survivor, her message is inspirational and powerful.

A native of Birmingham, she received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Auburn University. She now lives in Athens, Ga. where she is a popular television personality and author, an award-winning real estate professional and a non-profit volunteer with numerous organizations. She has served on many boards and committees including United Way, Paralympics and St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation. She is a member of the Athens Chamber’s Women in Business Council.

Dooley is the recipient of many awards and is recognized as one the State of Georgia’s Most Gracious Ladies. She has been married to the former University of Georgia head football coach and director of athletics, Vince Dooley for almost 50 years.

Registration for the luncheon is $55 and includes the 12 p.m. lunch. Tables of 10 can be reserved for $550. Seating is limited and early registration is recommended.
