AUBURN – Approximately 150 college anglers are expected to fish Wheeler Lake this weekend, Feb. 11-13, in the Southern Collegiate Bass Fishing Series tournament at Ingals Harbor in Decatur.
The fishing series, hosted by Auburn University’s Bass Sports Club, is open to all university-sponsored fishing teams throughout the Southeast and beyond.
Anglers will fish out of Ingals Harbor beginning at safe light on Friday for the official practice day. The competition will begin Saturday morning. The tournament is a two-day event with the first-day weigh-in at 3 p.m. Saturday and the final-day weigh-in at 2 p.m. Sunday. The public is invited to attend weigh-ins. A live broadcast of the weigh-ins will be available at www.auburn.edu/bass.
The Southern Collegiate Bass Fishing Series consists of three tournaments and one championship. The series continues March 18-19 on Lake Guntersville, Guntersville, and the championship April 15-16 on Pickwick Lake, Florence.
