AU’s Kicklighter to give ‘Final Lecture’ April 3 as student pick for most outstanding teacher

AUBURN – Joseph Kicklighter, Auburn University history professor in the College of Liberal Arts, has been voted by the AU Class of 2008 as its choice for most outstanding teacher and will deliver the inaugural “Final Lecture” on Thursday, April 3, at 4 p.m. in the Foy Ballroom.

Sponsored by the Student Government Association, Omicron Delta Kappa and Mortar Board, the “Final Lecture” program was created to give all AU students the opportunity to participate in a teaching award given on behalf of the student body. Student academic and campus leaders narrowed a pool of nominees to five finalists from which juniors and seniors across campus selected Kicklighter.

In a commencement-style address open to all students, faculty and administrators, Kicklighter’s “Final Lecture” will include words of advice and inspiration for students either who have just begun or who are about to end their college careers.
