Public input invited to help plan Auburn University’s first War Eagle Wedding

AUBURN – Three couples have been selected as finalists for Auburn University’s first War Eagle Wedding, an all-inclusive wedding experience created in partnership with The Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center, the Opelika-Auburn News and WRBL News 3. Nineteen couples submitted either a two-minute video or written application explaining why they should be chosen for the custom wedding. The War Eagle Wedding Committee narrowed these down to three for the competition. Voting for the final couple begins Jan. 5 at 10 a.m and ends Jan. 18 at 4 p.m.

The public will have the opportunity to vote on all aspects of the wedding including, but not limited to, the winning couple, the wedding dress, the invitation style, the cake design, the floral arrangements, portraits style, jewelry, the rehearsal dress and the reception menu. These items are being donated by local and national businesses. The wedding is sponsored in part by Metabolic Research Center and Prudential Preferred Realty of Auburn.

The wedding will be held on Saturday, May 26, on the lawn in front of Samford Hall with the reception taking place at The Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center. The winning couple will be featured in all promotions for the wedding and also will have the opportunity to blog about their experiences.
