The Center for Longleaf Pine Ecosystems is a very welcome addition to Alabama's forest resources. I read Roland Harper's amazing works on the forests of Alabama as a young person back in the 60's and have grieved as my favorite tree was slowly removed from our landscape. The development of commercial longleaf seedlings and the natural love of Alabamians for their state tree has reversed the losses and there is a brighter future for the aristocrat of our woods. I would like to volunteer my time a energies in any way I can to help you further your cause.

Goodloe, You can get Longleaf pine seedlings at Mobley Plant Farm in Moultrie, Georgia or Lewis Taylor Greenhouses in Tifton, Georgia. Both of those companies can provide you with more information on Longleaf Pines.

I have about 400 acres, two thirds is mixed pine and hardwoods with part of that plantation loblolly.
I would like specifice information on lonleaf pine:
Where do I get seedlings?
How much are they?
Who knows how to plant them -- they are planted diffrerently than loblolly?
Generic answers won't get it.
Thanks,
Goodloe
