Auburn fans encouraged to vote for All Auburn All Orange T-shirt design

AUBURN – Auburn University students, alumni and fans will have the opportunity to vote for the 2009-10 All Auburn All Orange T-shirt design from April 6-10. All Auburn All Orange was created by the Student Government Association and the Athletic Department as a way to promote the unity and spirit of Auburn. It is a celebration of the “Auburn Family,” and the shirt designs will reflect this.

Three potential designs will be featured on the All Auburn All Orange Web site. Fans can vote once per day until 4:45 p.m. on April 10.

“Our coaching staff is excited to be a part of the Auburn Family and supports the mission of All Auburn All Orange,” said Gene Chizik, head football coach. “We encourage everyone–students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the university–to unite behind this program.”

The winning design will be announced at the A-Day game on April 18. Shirts will then be available for purchase at numerous retailers throughout Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee.

A portion of the proceeds from the All Auburn All Orange shirt will support Auburn’s student scholarship programs and help fund the Student Government Association’s Big Event program. The Big Event is a way for Auburn students to give back to the Auburn community through service projects on one specific day.

“All Auburn All Orange reflects the spirit of Auburn,” said SGA President Jacob Watkins. “The message behind All Auburn All Orange – unity and family – is strong. We hope that Auburn fans everywhere will support this program.”

Last year, approximately 12,000 All Auburn All Orange shirts were sold providing nearly $15,000 for student scholarships and the Big Event. More than 2,000 students and student athletes participated in this year’s Big Event.

“We are proud to have had more than 2,000 Auburn students and student athletics participate in the 2009 Big Event,” said Jay Jacobs, director of athletics. “Their participation shows how dedicated the Auburn family is by showing up on a Saturday to assist in service projects for the Auburn community. Since royalties generated from the All Auburn All Orange T-shirt help fund student scholarships and The Big Event, the athletic department is very supportive of this program.”

After purchasing a T-shirt, fans are encouraged to wear their All Auburn All Orange shirt at designated events throughout the year, including College Colors Day, a national movement in conjunction with the kick off of the college football season Sept. 4. College Colors Day promotes higher education and celebrates the achievements, spirit and traditions of colleges and universities. The Auburn Family is encouraged to wear their orange and blue on College Colors Day to show support for the Tigers.
