Gogue selected as sole candidate by AU Presidential Search Committee, will visit campus this week

AUBURN – Dr. Jay Gogue, president of the University of Houston, was selected today by the Auburn University presidential search committee as the sole finalist for the position of AU’s 18th president.

Gogue will visit the AU campus this week, a requirement for further consideration for the position. The committee encourages faculty, staff, students, alumni and the general public to meet Gogue during a series of meetings and forums on Wednesday and Thursday.

Following is the schedule of meetings with campus groups and public forums:

Wednesday, March 21:

5 p.m. – 5:45 p.m.

The committee will reconvene at 3 p.m., on Thursday, March 22, to consider public response to the candidate and provide a recommendation to a special called meeting of the AU Board of Trustees at 4 p.m. Meetings of the search committee and Board of Trustees will be held at The Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center.
