AUBURN – Auburn University fans can celebrate the winning football season, complete with national title, by obtaining an Auburn national championship credit card.
Two new card designs are available to alumni and friends of the university, each featuring the Auburn national championship logo. Applicants can choose their own design, either a MasterCard credit card with Jordan-Hare Stadium or a Visa card with Auburn football team players.
AUBURN, AL and EUGENE, OR – Prior to competing in the BCS championship game, Auburn University and the University of Oregon will team up for a community service project at St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance in Phoenix, the world’s first food bank, to show support for the local Phoenix and Glendale communities.
On Sunday, Jan. 9, from 8:45 a.m. to noon, approximately 200 Auburn and Oregon representatives, including the university presidents, students, alumni, family members and fans, will sort donated food and pack emergency food boxes on an assembly line at St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance, 2831 N. 31st Ave., in Phoenix.
AUBURN – When Auburn’s Marching Band members return from the holidays this week, they will immediately hit the practice field in preparation for their performance at the BCS National Championship game. The Auburn Tigers take on the Oregon Ducks Jan. 10 in Glendale, Ariz.
The band will have a rehearsal Friday afternoon in Auburn before heading to Arizona early Saturday morning. All 380 band members along with 30 faculty and staff will fly nonstop on two chartered jets from Montgomery to Phoenix. A few students were already on campus earlier this week to help load large instruments and equipment into a tractor-trailer for shipping to the game.
“All the band members are really excited,” band member Katie Morgan said. “It’s something we’ve been looking forward to all season. Early on we thought maybe it was a possibility and now it’s a great way to end our year.”
