Hudson gift to Auburn University’s Cary Center to start volunteer program for college students

AUBURN UNIVERSITY – Kim and Tim Hudson recently made a $100,000 gift to the Cary Center for the Advancement of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies at Auburn University to start a leadership philanthropic and volunteer program.

The gift from the Auburn alumni will establish the Kim and Tim Hudson Fund for Excellence, which will be used to support the new Volunteers in Philanthropy, or VIP, program.

Gift expands Auburn’s Cary Center for the Advancement of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies

AUBURN UNIVERSITY – A charitable gift from a member of the Women’s Philanthropy Board in Auburn University’s College of Human Sciences will be used to create two named positions at the Cary Center for the Advancement of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies.

The donation from Beth Thorne Stukes establishes the Drummond Thorne Stukes Executive Director for the Cary Center for the Advancement of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies and Women’s Philanthropy Board, as well as the Drummond Thorne Stukes Assistant Director for Camp iCare, REAL Cents REAL Change and the new Volunteers in Philanthropy.

Sidney James Nakhjavan will serve as the Cary Center’s first Drummond Thorne Stukes Executive Director. A national search is under way for the Drummond Thorne Stukes Assistant Director position.

Historic Auburn home officially dedicated as Cary Center for the Advancement of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies

Cary CenterAUBURN – With the use of a historic Auburn home to house the newly established Cary Center for the Advancement of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies, the College of Human Sciences at Auburn University is poised to pursue philanthropic responsibility and nonprofit leadership education, outreach and research on a national level.

The Cary Center, in the historic Halliday-Cary-Pick home, was formally dedicated today. The second oldest home in Auburn was generously gifted to the college by Frances Pick Dillard, a founding member of the Women’s Philanthropy Board, and her family, to promote the expansion of the college’s already successful philanthropic efforts.
