AUBURN UNIVERSITY – Auburn University’s College of Architecture, Design and Construction programs continue to rank among the nation’s best. In the annual DesignIntelligence magazine survey, “America’s Best Architecture and Design Schools 2013,” the college’s undergraduate Architecture and graduate Landscape Architecture programs and both the undergraduate and graduate Industrial Design programs are ranked in the top 15 degree programs in their fields nationally.
Auburn University’s Architecture program is ranked ninth, rising from 14th in 2012. This marks the eighth consecutive year the Architecture program has been ranked in the top 20 architecture programs nationally. The program is also ranked fourth in the South according to the 2013 report.
AUBURN – The glow of more than 400 jack-o-lanterns will light up the courtyard of Auburn University’s Dudley Hall on Friday, Oct. 28, as students from the College of Architecture, Design and Construction hold their 23rd annual Pumpkin Carve.
The Pumpkin Carve has grown from a small student competition to a community event that attracts hundreds of people. Each year, visitors are amazed at the traditional Halloween and current event themes that are used by Auburn’s architecture students in the designs for the Pumpkin Carve.
The all-day public event, sponsored by the Auburn University chapter of the American Institute of Architecture Students, will begin at 9 a.m., as uncarved pumpkins go on sale for festival visitors and architecture students begin to create their jack-o-lanterns for the evening’s competition.
AUBURN – Auburn University is conducting a search for the new dean of the College of Architecture, Design and Construction. Provost Mary Ellen Mazey has appointed a search committee and an executive search firm will provide assistance with the search taking place this summer. Candidates will be identified and invited to campus in the early fall.
Dan Bennett, current dean of the College of Architecture, Design and Construction, recently announced his plans to retire at the end of the 2010 fall semester. The new dean will be appointed during the fall semester prior to Bennett’s retirement.
Bennett has served as dean of the college at Auburn since 2000, after spending 10 years as dean of the School of Architecture at the University of Arkansas.
AUBURN – Students from Auburn University’s College of Architecture, Design and Construction will light up the courtyard of Dudley Hall with the glow of more than 400 jack-o-lanterns at the 20th annual Pumpkin Carve on Halloween, Oct. 31.
The event, sponsored by the Auburn University chapter of American Institute of Architecture Students, will begin at 9 a.m. with the carving of the pumpkins and will last throughout the day. Uncarved pumpkins will be on sale for $4 beginning at 9 a.m.
