AUBURN– Auburn University’s Toomer’s Oaks Seedlings program will be featured on ESPNU’s “SEC Weekly” television show on Wednesday, June 15, at 6 p.m.
In 2002, Auburn University students began collecting acorns from the Toomer’s Oaks in order to grow seedlings from the beloved trees. Many of the seedlings from the acorns were planted in an orchard, while others have been sold to Auburn alumni and fans alike.
AUBURN – Auburn University joined with the 11 other Southeastern Conference institutions today in the launch of the SEC Academic Network, a Web site (www.secacademicnetwork.com) designed to promote academic endeavors of SEC universities using ESPN360.com technology.
The Academic Network, developed using technology and coordination from ESPN Digital Media and Origin Digital, will feature content from every institution ranging from research, innovation and economic development to community partnerships, civic engagement and service.
AUBURN – Auburn University fans can vote online at http://promo.espn.go.com/espn/contests/indianajones to support the Auburn University Marching Band in the ESPN online Battle of the Bands. The winner will receive $25,000 and each participating band will receive $5,000. Auburn’s marching band was selected by ESPN and Paramount Pictures, along with six other collegiate bands, to participate in a competition promoting the DVD release of the new Indiana Jones and the Quest for the Skull movie. The other bands selected are LSU, Georgia, Florida, Texas, USC and Clemson.
A video of each band’s performance can be viewed at the Web site. The winner is decided by an online vote, and all Auburn fans and members of the Auburn family are encouraged to vote daily to help the Auburn University Marching Band take home the grand prize.
