Auburn University Marines to host Mud Run on campus this Saturday

AUBURN – The Marines of Auburn University will host the area’s second annual Amphibious Warrior Mud Run this Saturday, April 2 starting at Auburn University’s Facilities Division on Samford Avenue. This opportunity to be part of The Few, The Proud, The Muddy is open to the public.

The purpose of this event is to increase the involvement of Auburn Marines within the local Auburn community, build university and community camaraderie and increase awareness of the strong ties Auburn University has with the military community.

Auburn Naval ROTC Marine officer instructor named Gold Award winner by national association

AUBURN – U.S. Marine Corps Major Jeffrey L. Dyal, the Marine Officer Instructor at Auburn University, NROTC, has received the Colonel Leo A. Codd Memorial Award from the National Defense Industrial Association. He will formally receive the award at a ceremony on April 21.

The award is given to the top three ROTC instructors in the country from each branch of service. Dyal was selected as the Gold Award winner from the Naval branch. The Gold Award is given to the top NROTC instructor chosen from more than 300 candidates, located at 63 Naval ROTC Units that encompass 76 colleges and universities nationwide.

Auburn University Marines’ to host 5K Mud Run on campus this Saturday

AUBURN – The Marines of Auburn University are hosting the area’s first 5K Mud Run this Saturday, April 3rd starting on Auburn University’s Intramural Field on Biggio Drive. This opportunity to be part of The Few, The Proud, The Muddy is open to the public.

The purpose of this event is to increase the involvement of Auburn Marines within the local Auburn community, build university and community camaraderie and increase awareness of the strong ties Auburn University has with the military community.

Retired U.S. Marine Commandant Mundy speaking at Auburn University

AUBURN – Retired Gen. Carl Mundy, the 30th Commandant of the United States Marine Corps, will address Auburn University’s Naval ROTC unit at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, in 125A Lowder Business Building. The presentation is open to the public.

Mundy graduated from Auburn in 1957 with a degree in business administration and in 2007 he received the Auburn Alumni Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
