AUBURN – Wendy Boglioli, a world-record-setting swimmer and Olympic gold and bronze medalist, will speak about planning for the future in her talk, “Financially Sound, Physically Strong,” on Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 10 a.m. in the auditorium at The Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center.
The lecture is designed to educate and motivate through stories of Boglioli’s personal experiences in both the financial and athletic realms. Boglioli says she was motivated to become an expert in financial planning when, during the 1976 Olympics, her father, who had been her swimming coach, became ill and required long-term care. While researching solutions for her parents, she learned that women disproportionately suffer the consequences of a failure to plan. Since then, she has taken up the cause of educating families about the importance of financial planning.
