AUBURN UNIVERSITY – An Auburn University student-led initiative is combining forces with the international hunger relief agency, Stop Hunger Now, to pack 10,000 meals at the Ralph B. Draughon Library on campus at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 13.
Senior Devin Yeomans got the idea to host a meal packing event and help fight hunger abroad from her work as the College of Human Sciences’ representative on the Committee of 19.
“I love the idea of actually putting food into a box that you know is going to someone that needs it,” she said. “It’s one thing to write a check to an organization that’s doing good, but actually packing meals is a much better way for students to be more engaged in the fight. This way, hunger is more real but they get to do something about it.”
