AUBURN – The Auburn University Office of Accessibility and the College of Education’s Department of Kinesiology will co-host the first Auburn Wheelchair Basketball Invitational, Sunday, March 4, at Auburn Arena.
The tournament will feature three games: Auburn vs. Lakeshore Foundation at noon; Lakeshore Foundation vs. Shepherd Center at 2 p.m.; and Auburn vs. Shepherd Center at 4 p.m.
Admission to the tournament is free. Spectators can gain access to the arena through the building’s Scholarship entrance.
AUBURN – The 2012 Southern Collegiate Bass Fishing Series, hosted by Auburn University, will begin Nov. 18-19 on Logan Martin Lake near Pell City.
More than 150 anglers representing 25 universities across the southeastern United States are expected to compete this season on lakes throughout north Alabama. The series will decide the 2012 Southern Collegiate Bass Fishing Series title and determine the universities that will be represented at the 2012 Southern Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship. A sample of participating schools includes Auburn, Alabama, North Alabama, Mississippi State, Georgia and Ole Miss.
AUBURN – The Auburn University BASS Club will compete in the Iron Bowl fishing tournament against the University of Alabama on Sunday, July 31 on Lake Jordan. The tournament will coincide with the B.A.S.S. Bassmaster Elite Series in Montgomery, Ala.
The boats will launch at 6 a.m. from Bonner’s landing and check in will be at 3 p.m. followed by the weigh in at 4:30 p.m., just prior to the Bassmaster Elite weigh in at 5 p.m. The weigh in will take place at the Montgomery Riverfront main stage. MONTGOMERY – The dean of the Auburn University and Auburn University Montgomery Schools of Nursing will host a charity golf tournament, “Mulligans for Masters,” on June 17 at Moore’s Mill Club in Auburn to raise support for the schools’ Master of Science in Nursing Program.
“We wanted to have an event that was fun and that also promoted healthy living,” said Gregg Newschwander, dean of nursing at Auburn University and Auburn University Montgomery. “Since golf is a popular, lifelong sport, a golf tournament made sense. Supporters of all ages can come out, have a good time, and help us build the graduate program in the Schools of Nursing.”
AUBURN – The 2010 Southern Collegiate Bass Fishing Series hosted by Auburn University will get underway Friday and Saturday, Feb. 12-13, on Lake Guntersville. Weigh-ins will be held at Bucky Howe Park at 2 p.m. each day.
The series has gained national recognition and contributed greatly to the explosive growth of collegiate bass fishing. More than 150 anglers representing 30 universities across the southeastern United States are expected to compete in the series, which will determine the universities that will be represented at the 2010 Southern Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship.
